Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome
More recently, the health profession has started referring to pain of the outer hip as Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS). This is an umbrella term that includes multiple causes of pain in this region, most notably gluteal tendinopathy.
